UNM Alumnus Brings Career Expertise in Space and Satellites to FCC

Sajjad H. Durrani, Sc. D. spent more than 20 years in government and corporate offices working on U.S. space and satellite programs and has been selected for a one-year fellowship as a special advisor to the Federal Communication Commission’s Office of Engineering and Technology. Durrani received a doctoral degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1962.

The Fellowship, sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - USA, will offer Durrani the opportunity to work with the FCC on issues related to network and wireless technologies as well as interference issues involving communications satellites in non-geostationary orbits.
