ECE Reports Progress of 2006-07
"The road ahead is full of complex problems, and complex problems cry out for teams of creative problem solvers," says ECE Chair Chaouki Abdallah in his introduction to the department's annual report for the academic year 2006-07. "Who among us believes that clean power generation will be solved by one individual? Or that fixing and strengthening our physical infrastructure will be done in a short time by one university or even one country?"
|
"Our future engineers will be leaders of multidisciplinary teams that work across continents and areas of expertise to chip away at these formidable challenges."

Landmark dates and events, including the program for the ECE building dedication in 1986 (which ribbon was cut with a laser), are recounted in A Brief History of the Department, where you will be
treated to fascinating ECE trivia such as the official yell of the First Annual Engineers' Banquet in 1908, and learn who was responsible for the huge, white letter U that was visible for miles (and years) at the base of the Sandia Mountains.
