ECE@UNM Open House Set for Nov. 4

Just twice a year, the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department opens its doors to the public, inviting pre-college students and their parents, teachers and counselors to get an inside look. Visitors have a chance to:

  • Look inside some fascinating research labs
  • Get a handle on scholarship opportunities and critical deadlines
  • Talk directly with professors and students
  • Gain insights into video gaming, computational intelligence, robotics, controls, plasma science, computer networks, high-power microwaves, circuits and more
  • Learn what differentiates electrical and computer engineering from other types of engineering
  • Address questions to people who are in a good position to answer them
  • Hear about careers in these fields
  • Learn what high school courses to take to prepare for collegiate studies in engineering
  • The fall open house is Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. Register online at http://excel.ece.unm.edu/welcome. This site also has links to a poster and a map with parking information.

Visitors may drop in at ECE's lobby any time that's convenient. Lab tours will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. At about 6 p.m. guests will gather for a brief presentation and Q&A.

ECE@UNM is in the southwest corner of the UNM campus. A downloadable map is available on the sign-up website at http://excel.ece.unm.edu/welcome.
